from some of the gorgeous couples I've had the pleasure of
getting to know...
We wanted to send a huge thank you!
Kirsty, we didn't realise how important the right celebrant would be, but you were a really big part of making our day exactly what we wanted it to be. You really are in the right job! Thank you.
We wanted someone who would fit the mood we wanted to create - relaxed, happy, cheerful - someone who wouldn't try to be the centre of attention themselves, and who respected our very low-key, secular, community focus for the day.
We spoke to a few other celebrants but many were either a bit too flowery or a bit too serious. As soon as we had a chat with Kirsty we knew she was the right one for us - she felt like one of our friends.
Our ceremony was exactly what we were hoping for. We hadn't walked through the whole thing carefully - just pointed out where we'd be and discussed the rough plans - so when on the day it was fresh, new and honest.
Kirsty managed the whole thing beautifully based on the information we'd given her and the chats we'd had to prepare.
She gave a great intro speech about our 'story' and had everyone laughing and feeling really welcome.
We wrote our own vows, and Kirsty had printed them and given them to us in beautiful keepsake cards, which was a professional touch that we totally wouldn't have thought of.
She helped us include our siblings, and also had the great idea of including the guests in the vows, making a community pledge to support us in our marriage and join in the joy of the day. The whole thing was funny, warm, honest and happy - perfect for us. Looking back, we wouldn't change a thing!
Kirsty was warm, smart, funny, easy-going and professional. She made the whole day seem totally 'doable' and took the stress out of planning the ceremony itself, giving us lots of helpful suggestions and actually adding some of our favourite parts of the day. She was great with our guests too - loads of people later said how much fun she had brought to the ceremony, and told us that at first they thought she must be a friend of ours that they hadn't met yet!
